Rakesh Sharma is the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist for the Global EPT Leader with Associates (LWA) award. In this position, Rakesh manages M&E processes, tools, and approaches in GEPT program implementation and ensures that data from these approaches is used for programmatic and mechanism learning. Rakesh works closely with colleagues in the Consortium for Electoral and Political Process Strengthening (CEPPS) to implement joint M&E approaches to inform programming including joint baseline assessments and mid-term evaluations, as well as implementation of a mechanism-wide indicators database housing over 1,000 indicators from GEPT program implementation. As part of the CEPPS executive and administrative management team, Rakesh develops policies guiding M&E implementation in GEPT programs and provides oversight over their implementation.
Rakesh has extensive experience in M&E in the DRG field and has managed the development of several publications focused on emerging issues in the field of elections. He has also worked with electoral experts to develop methodologies to systematically evaluate electoral processes. He also has over twenty years of experience overseeing the implementation and management of survey, focus group and other opinion research projects and has conducted research in more than 40 countries. Rakesh has a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, and a MA in Comparative Politics from American University.
